Being somewhat crippled after my car accident last October, being a single "older" person trying to run a farm on my own has been a challenge, to say the least.

But it's OK. I'm thankful...thankful I didn't lose my life, thankful I didn't lose a limb, thankful I'm not paralyzed from the neck down...it could have been a lot worse.

QUERY: Drive home vehicle policies

We have received a query from several asking for a statement on the drive home policies for government owned vehicles.

The most recent question is focused on the City of Columbia, particularly the police department. The question sometimes focuses on utilities, county, school board, independent taxing districts, as well as state and federal vehicles or other publically funded organizations.

In many if not most situations, very valid aims pertain to the policies.

If any of these entities wish to make a statement on the policies, we would appreciate hearing from them.

The last request for the information came from Ralph Waggener, Editor & Publisher of It's Just for a Smile News. In this era of tight government budgets, it seems a very legitimate question and a very appropriate subject for a civil conversation.

Submissions for possible posting are welcome, both from public agencies and from concerned citizens. Send using any CM Contact/Submit button. - ED WAGGENER
