Christmas in Columbia 2011: A huge success

Starting with a best ever traditional Columbia Rotary Club Sausage Breakfast, followed by the tremendously successful Adair Heritage Association's Old Fashioned Christmas at the Historic Adair County Courthouse, and continuing with the big Santa Claus attraction at Lindsey Wilson, through the longest, most enjoyable parade under the lights through Downtown Columbia, with Mike Meyer as parade marshal and the thrill of the combined Adair County High School and Lindsey Wilson bands - it's hard to imagine a more successful Christmas in Columbia. -CM
'Christmas in Columbia this year showed what can be accomplished when individuals and groups in the community dare to become involved - RON HEATH, C/AC Chamber President

By Ron Heath, President, Columbia/Adair Chamber of Commerce

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce, I want to express our sincere thanks to the many volunteers who helped make this Christmas in Columbia one of the best ever. It was refreshing to see so many individuals and groups all pitch in to make the weekend such a success. What a way to kick off the Christmas season! The Chamber would be remiss if it didn't say a special thanks to the groups that worked so hard on the weekend.

By: Chris Taylor, Breeding Fire TRT Captain

On November 27, 2011 Breeding Fire Department Technical Rescue Team members assisted Campbellsville Fire Rescue in putting up mile marker signs on the Green River. The Taylor County Fiscal Court decided to make the mile marker signs and place every mile on Green River. The decision was made after two different water rescues were made during the summer. One event was a swift water rescue on Memorial Day weekend where 2 people were rescued after their canoe capsized in the river during the heavy rains of last May. A drowning occurred on July 4th weekend. BFD TRT was requested and assisted with both of those incidents.

Let us know when we e-mail too much

CM does not routinely email confirmations to persons we know completely understand our system and check our website often, making email unnecessary (and most likely unwanted).

Just let us know. We want to do our part to reduce any of our emails which might be annoying, clutter your inbox, or create unnecessary traffic on the internet.

Occasionally, too, in very busy times, confirmation emails have to be foregone in cases we think they might be helpful. Your input is appreciated as we try to achieve a balance in this age of information overload. -EW
