Wayne Goodin, Russell County, KY (1942-2011)

He was a member of a large, respected family. He was a native of Adair County, KY, a truck driver, a Vietnam Era U.S. Army veteran. He will be accorded full military honors by VFW Post 6097 of Columbia, KY

Wayne Goodin, 69, of Russell Springs, KY, died Monday, December 5, 2011 at 1:13amET, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Lonnie Bunch officiating. Burial will be in Smith-Hutchison Cemetery, 4272 Pelham Branch Road, Columbia, KY, with full military honors presented by VFW Post 6097. Visitation after 5pmCT, Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at the funeral home.


Casket Bearers: Barry Lee, Michael Lee, Jason Wheeler, Bryan Ballou, Jimmy Turner and James Smith.

Wayne Goodin, Adair County, KY (1942-2011)

He was born Friday, April 25, 1942 in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Earl Dennis and Mary Elizabeth Turner Goodin. He died Monday, December 5, 2011, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 10 days.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Vinell Wheeler, in 2002.

He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a truck driver.

Survivors include the following:
  • His wife: Gaye Goodin of Russell Springs, KY

  • One sister: Linda (Phillip) Lee of Somerset, KY

  • Three nephews and one niece: Barry and Michael Lee of Somerset, KY, and Jason Wheeler and Amy Mann both of Columbia, KY
