By Chris Wells

KANSAS CITY, MO - Fresh off its win over then-No. 1-ranked University of Pikeville, the Lindsey Wilson College men's basketball team is No. 16 in the first regular season NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Coaches' Top-25 Poll, released on Monday by NAIA officials.

The Blue Raiders -- not ranked in the preseason national poll -- made the largest jump in the poll as voted on by a panel of head coaches representing each conference, the independents and unaffiliated groups.

Lindsey Wilson and No. 20 John Brown University are the only two teams not ranked in the preseason poll to make the first regular season poll.

Lindsey Wilson is 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the Mid-South Conference following two wins last week. The Blue Raiders received 136 voting points to move to No. 16 in the poll.

Three other MSC teams are in the poll led by No. 4 Georgetown College. University of the Cumberlands is No. 12 in the poll while Pikeville is No. 22. St. Catharine College picked up one vote from the national raters.

Robert Morris (IL) University and Concordia (CA) University are tied atop the national poll with 306 voting points. Robert Morris received six first-place votes while Concordia garnered five first-place nods. Oklahoma Baptist University is third in the poll and Shorter (GA) University is fifth with 292 and 269 voting points respectively.

The MSC's four teams in the top-25 is tied for the most by any one conference in the NAIA.

The next poll is scheduled to be announced on Monday, December 12, 2011.
