Taft Neal of the Lindsey Wilson College Physical Plant operates a small tractor Wednesday morning to clear the parking lot next to Bonner Scholar and Career Services house. Although Wednesday classes were canceled, LWC staff continued to prepare the campus for the students and faculty to return for the spring semester.

Linda Dianne Johnson, 72, Russell County, KY (1945-2018)

She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and a member of Cedar Springs United Baptist Church. She was a native of Pulaski County, KY, and a resident of Russell County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Denver & Argola Meece Shepperd. She leaves 51 direct living descendants.
Linda Dianne Johnson, 72, Russell Springs, KY, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at her home.

Funeral service for Linda Dianne Johnson will be 10amCT, Friday, January 19, 2018, at the Cedar Springs United Baptist Church with Bro. Leon Simpson officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Thursday, January 18, 2018, at the Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY and after 9amCT, Friday at the church. Interment will be in the Cedar Springs Cemetery. Special music will be rendered by Lori Godby.

Kenneth Isacc (K.I.) Riddle, Adair Co., KY/Cumberland Co. native (1928-2018)

He was a native of Marrowbone, Cumberland Co., KY, and a member of a prominent Adair County, KY family. He was the son of the late Danny Isaac & Pearl Strange Riddle, and the widower of Maxine Lollar Riddle. He leaves four direct living descendants. He is remembered for business leadership, dedication to his family and church, and for an engaging smile, and dry wit. He was a member of the Columbia Christian Church and was the highly successful Chevron distributor in Columbia for some 28 years. His final resting place will be in his native Cumberland County, KY.

It has been a delayed start to the 2018 spring semester at Lindsey Wilson College.

The semester officially began with online classes on Tuesday but the first winter storm of the season forced the college to close administrative offices on the main campus and cancel day and evening classes on Wednesday, January 17 , 2018 - what should have been the first day of the new spring semester.

Classes on the A.P. White Campus were canceled on Tuesday evening and all day on Wednesday. Although classes were called off, the college remained open for the more than 1,000 students who have already returned from winter break.

Campbellsville University professor to give faculty organ recital

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music at Campbellsville University, will be giving a faculty organ recital on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 7amCT/8amET, in Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Avenue, Campbellsville, KY.

The program will consist of sacred music in concert settings with premiers of works by the Dutch composer Kees Weggelaar and Louisville composer Daniel Gilliam.

Max Reger's monumental setting of the famous parable on the ten virgins in Matthew 25, based upon Philipp Nicolai's text and melody known as "Sleepers, Awake," will conclude the program.

Taylor County Grand Jury returns indictments Tue 16 Jan 2018

Indictments brought against 9 individuals from Campbellsville, Bardstown, and Buffalo, KY and Jeffersonville IN, on charges including possession, trafficking, DUI, wanton endangerment, and criminal mischief.

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

David Jones, Director of Student Transportation, announced at 9:54amCT, Wednesday, January 17, 2018, to announce that there will be No School in the Adair County School District the rest of the week. There will be No School Thursday, January 18, 2018, and No School Friday, January 19, 2018.

Dr. Pam Stephens, Superintendent, said that it is anticipated that weekend sunshine will aid clearing away ice and snow accumulations and that classes will be back in session Monday morning, January 22, 2018.

Colleges and University Closings, Schedule Changes

  • Lindsey Wilson College day classes have been canceled at the LWC main campus for Wednesday, January 17, 2018, and non-essential staff will be on a three-hour delay. Offices are scheduled to open at 10:30amCT, Wednesday. - VENUS POPPLEWELL, Director of Public Relations.

  • WKU's Bowling Green campus will operate on normal schedule on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Decisions on regional campuses will be communicated as they are made. Please use best judgment based on your conditions. If you feel it is unsafe to travel to campus, contact your supervisor or instructor. While grounds crews have cleared a major portion of campus, low temperatures tonight will cause refreezing and the potential for black ice.
    WKU Elizabethtown-Fort Knox campus will be CLOSED Wednesday. Students in Winter Term classes should watch email and Blackboard for assignment revisions.

Colleges and University Closings, Schedule Changes

  • Lindsey Wilson College day classes have been canceled at the LWC main campus for Wednesday, January 17, 2018, and non-essential staff will be on a three-hour delay. Offices are scheduled to open at 10:30amCT, Wednesday. - VENUS POPPLEWELL, Director of Public Relations.

  • WKU's Bowling Green campus will operate on normal schedule on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Decisions on regional campuses will be communicated as they are made. Please use best judgment based on your conditions. If you feel it is unsafe to travel to campus, contact your supervisor or instructor. While grounds crews have cleared a major portion of campus, low temperatures tonight will cause refreezing and the potential for black ice.
    WKU Elizabethtown-Fort Knox campus will be CLOSED Wednesday. Students in Winter Term classes should watch email and Blackboard for assignment revisions.
    WKU Glasgow campus will be CLOSED Wednesday. Students looking to register for WKU Glasgow spring 2018 semester courses should visit the WKU Glasgow website for information.
