LWC students enjoy the snow-covered campus despite the cold Classes cancelled because of weather, but students took advantage of the winter wonderland campus today, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 Click on headline for complete story with photo album - in progress By Venus Popplewell, Director of Public Relations, LWC It has been a delayed start to the 2018 spring semester at Lindsey Wilson College. The semester officially began with online classes on Tuesday but the first winter storm of the season forced the college to close administrative offices on the main campus and cancel day and evening classes on Wednesday, January 17 , 2018 - what should have been the first day of the new spring semester. Classes on the A.P. White Campus were canceled on Tuesday evening and all day on Wednesday. Although classes were called off, the college remained open for the more than 1,000 students who have already returned from winter break. Physical Plant Operations staff worked overtime to clear sidewalks, driveways and parking lots, as well as to respond to weather-related campus emergencies along with members of LWC's Public Safety and Security Office. The staff of the Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center made sure students were served three meals each day; the staff of the Katie Murrell Library remained on stand-by for questions; and the staff and student workers of the Doris and Bob Holloway Center kept the 73,000-square-foot recreation building operating during its regular hours. LWC's residential students made the most of the extended winter break by using several of the campus hills for sledding and playing in the snow. The college plans to kick off the spring semester on Thursday, January 18, 2018. This story was posted on 2018-01-17 18:03:03
