She had professed her faith in Christ at a young age and was a member of The Columbia Christian Church. She was a longtime employee of Young & Wilson Drugs and Columbia Pharmacy. She was a beloved member of the community and the matriarch of a highly regarded family. She was the daughter of the late Frank Bennett and Lorena Coomer Bennett, and the widow of Tommie Murrell. She leaves seven direct living descendants.

Civil War Author, Ron Blair, to discuss new Book on Adair County's Union Col. Wolford at Hiestand House/Taylor County Museum

Ron Blair will discuss his recent book Wild Wolf, a detailed biography of Union Colonel Frank Wolford, during a free event the Hiestand House-Taylor County Museum, 1075 Campbellsville Bypass, Campbellsville, KY, on Sunday, May 1 at 12:30pmCT/1:30pmET.

Col. Wolford was a native of Adair County, KY. He organized and was the commander of the First Kentucky Union Cavalry, recruiting men from Taylor, Adair and Casey counties. He fought in over 300 battles and skirmishes, was wounded seven times, and had eight horses shot from under him during the war.
