COLUMBIA, KY -- A nearly two-decade Columbia-Adair County musical tradition will continue at 6:30pmCT, Sunday night, April 24, 2016 with the Lindsey Wilson College Spring Gala, at Columbia Christian Church, 206 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. The concert is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature two major works, both accompanied by the string section of Commonwealth Musicians. First is Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria and will include the Lindsey Wilson College Singers and the Concert Choir. The second work is Franz Joseph Haydn's Piano Concerto in D and will be performed by LWC Professor of Music Robert Reynolds as the piano soloist.
LWC Associate Professor of Music Gerald Chafin said that since 1999, it's become a tradition to hold the Spring Music Gala on the last Sunday evening in April. "The LWC choral students look forward to the Spring Music Gala because they enjoy the venue and the musicians who accompany them," he said.
