Mrs. Shelby Jean Tungate Miller, Taylor Co., KY (1949-2016)

She was a native of Taylor County, KY, and a resident Jennings County, IN, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Robert "Bob" and Ida Mae (Garrett) Tungate. As a young lady, she professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Tallow Creek Baptist Church. She leaves three children, all of Campbellsville, KY to carry on her legacy.

Mrs. Shelby Jean (Tungate) Miller, 66. of North Vernon, IN departed this life on Thursday, April 21, 2016 in Seymour, Indiana at the Covered Bridge Health Campus.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Miller on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 11amCT/12pmNoonCT,in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Dennis Penick will be officiating. Interment will be in the Old Liberty Cemetery, Hwy 1157, Bradfordsville, KY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Sunday, April 24, 2016.



Mrs. Shelby Jean Tungate Miller, Taylor Co., KY (1949-2016)

Mrs. Shelby Jean (Tungate) Miller of North Vernon, Indiana, was born in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, on July 6, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Robert "Bob" and Ida Mae (Garrett) Tungate. She departed this life on Thursday, April 21, 2016 in Seymour, Jackson County, IN at the Covered Bridge Health Campus, having attained the age of 66 years, 9 months, and 15 days.

As a young lady, she professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Tallow Creek Baptist Church.

She leaves to mourn her passing:
  • Three children: Nancy Belle Franklin and husband Paul, Debra "Deanie" Harris Penick, and Phillip Dean Harris and wife Sara, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four siblings: Roxie Mitchell of Campbellsville, KY; Caroline Waltermire and husband Lloyd of North Vernon, IN; Max Tungate and wife Susan of Scipio, IN; and Clifton Tungate and wife Edith of North Vernon, IN

  • A close friend: Phillip "Keystone" Thixton of North Vernon, IN

  • And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis Jean Harris; three sisters, Tranna Greer, Tassie Peake, and Linda Hadley; four brothers, Lonnie Tungate, Cellan "Whitey" Tungate, Larry "Bud" Tungate, and Sandy Tungate.
