Stan Abell: ACHS students in 1972 could buy booze in dry Adair

Growing up in "dry" Adair County

By Stan Abell
Personal commentary

I went to Adair County High (1972 grad) and when you wanted alcohol then all you had to do was get it at a drive through bootlegger and I bet it's still true today.

Bootleggers, preachers and law enforcement seem to be a common thread when it comes to illegal booze. Just saying. - Stan Abell

Michael Regan: Commentary on Wet/Dry

By Michael Regan
Personal Commentary

To the citizens of Adair County:

I don't have a high tower or busy corner venue to express my thoughts on a banner that voices my negative opinion of a wet Adair County. What I have are the tiny, red words written in the Bible that carry the power of the universe; from the mouth of our Creator, Jesus Christ. "What is bound on earth, so, too is bound in Heaven". Can you see a bar in Heaven?!
