SOMERSET, KY (3pmCT/4pmET, Mon 15 Feb 2016) - Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 8 crews were able to make remarkable progress today in clearing roadways.

All crews continue to plow this evening and report that routes are either wet pavement or have partly covered areas with slush.

District personnel are monitoring the forecast which calls for a potential for more snow possible during the overnight hours. A decision will be made later this evening as if crews will remain on duty throughout the night or if they will return in the early morning hours Tuesday.

Motorists are reminded that if traveling to use caution and take it slow. Many routes have areas of slush cover especially at intersections. Also, the rain along with the melting snow has resulted in ponding of water on roads throughout the District.

Road condition updates are available by calling 511 or by logging onto the 511 traffic and travel information website, 511.ky.gov.
