District 8 Road Condition 3pmCT/4pmET Update Snow removal crews have made remarkable progress today, and are continuing to plow this evening. Motorists are reminded to still use caution and take it slow. Already there is ponding of water on roads throughout the district. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 8 is responsible for maintaining approximately 5,209 lanes miles throughout Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Lincoln, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Russell and Wayne counties. By Amber Hale, Public Information Officer Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 8, Somerset, KY SOMERSET, KY (3pmCT/4pmET, Mon 15 Feb 2016) - Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 8 crews were able to make remarkable progress today in clearing roadways. All crews continue to plow this evening and report that routes are either wet pavement or have partly covered areas with slush. District personnel are monitoring the forecast which calls for a potential for more snow possible during the overnight hours. Motorists are reminded that if traveling to use caution and take it slow. Many routes have areas of slush cover especially at intersections. Also, the rain along with the melting snow has resulted in ponding of water on roads throughout the District.
