She was a native of Cumberland County, KY, the daughter of the late Warsh Conatser and Maude Anderson Conatser. She was the widow of Charles E. Gordon. She leaves 15 direct and 15 step living descendants. She was of the Baptist faith.

AC Hospital District announces daily called meetings

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Adair County Hospital District and the Adair County Public Hospital District Corporation Board of Directors will convene a concurrent Special Called meeting of the District and Corporation on December 8, 9 and 10, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. CST in the Board Room at Westlake Regional Hospital at 921 Westlake Drive, Columbia, KY, 42728.

The purpose of the Special Called meeting is to continue negotiations begun during mediation with creditors on the Chapter 9 Plan of Adjustment. The following Agenda is how the District and Corporation will conduct their sessions:

Adair County Hospital District Board of Directors
  1. Call to Order: The Board of Directors will open a concurrent Special Called meeting of the Adair County Hospital District and Adair County Public Hospital District Corporation at 4:30 p.m. CST in order to properly conduct, discuss and act, if necessary, on the terms of the Chapter 9 Plan of Adjustment. The Board will conduct negotiations during the Executive session and will vote on any and all decisions during the open session of the Special Called meeting.
  2. Executive Sessions: KRS 61.810(1)(C) - Discussions of proposed or pending litigation against or on behalf of the District regarding terms of the Chapter 9 Plan of Adjustment.
  3. Public Session: voting on any decisions required for the negotiations.
  4. Adjournment.
The meeting is open to the public except when body is in executive session.

Adair County Hospital District Trustees: Negotiations ongoing

There is progress. Settlement might be reached as early as December 18, 2015. Details of the final cost to taxpayers of Adair County and length of time hospital tax will be imposed still not known. CEO announces Special Session Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week; mediation meeting in Louisville on Friday, December 11, 2015, and session in U.S. Bankruptcy Court on December 18, 2015, at which time a final ruling in the case could come.

The Special Called Meeting of the Adair County Hospital Board of Trustees ended with an announcement that there was no action taken in Executive Session and no announcement would be made. However, as Chairman Richard Grant asked for a motion to adjourn, Trustee Sharon Burton asked if there couldn't be a discussion and CEO Neal Gold responded with a bit more about plans going forward, but still, no details about the financial consequences the county faces as a result of a final ruling from the bankruptcy judge in the Chapter 9 proceedings.

Mark Twain Shriners make donation to CMS

Donations will help make student's Christmas a bit brighter

Campbellsville Independent School District

Campbellsville Middle School and the Campbellsville Family Resource and Youth Services Center received a donation on Friday, December 4, 2015, that will help make students' Christmas a bit brighter.

Members of the Mark Twain Shrine Club in Columbia donated $675, to be split between CMS and the FRYSC.

The money will be used to provide Angel Tree gifts and other items for students.

School officials said they appreciate the donations, which will help students have a wonderful Christmas.

David Lee Clift, 72, Columbia, KY native (1943-2015)

He was a retired Industrial Engineer and served in the National Guard. He was a member of an old line Columbia family, the grandson of Mr. Milton Lee, Sr. and Rosa Grissom. He was the son of the late Charlie and Eleanor Clift. He leaves six direct living descendants.

In the Christine car with the flashing blue lights was Thomas Long. Heading the trio, sounding the Dixie horn, in the General Lee was Cameron Barnett with passenger, Jeff Barnett. CMS students have fun at Winter Wonderland Dance

Campbellsville Middle School students had fun at a Winter Wonderland Dance on Friday, December 5, 2015, and collected toys for children.

Admission to the dance was $5, though students could bring a new toy for the community's toy drives and get in for free.

At the dance, students played Christmas games and had dance and tackiest Christmas sweater competitions.

LWC's Siqueira, Montano named to National All Tournament team

COLUMBIA, KY - Lindsey Wilson volleyball student-athletes Carol Siqueira and Makenzie Montano have been named to the 2015 NAIA Volleyball National Championship All-Tournament Team.

Siqueira averaged 4.8 kills per set during the tournament, the fourth-highest average of any player. The outside hitter racked up 86 kills in her 18 sets played at the national championship tournament.

Dream Depot, US Civil Corp team up for free Christmas Dinner

The U.S. Civil Corp, LLC and the Dream Depot will be hosting their second annual free Christmas Dinner for those in need in our community again this year, 5pmCT-8pmCT, Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Wheet Fellowship Hall, 1200 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY.

In addition to the free Christmas Dinner, Santa Claus will visit, there will be music and live singing by the Dream Depot, and there will be a narration of the Christmas Story.

Community participation is welcome.
