He was a retired Industrial Engineer and served in the National Guard. He was a member of an old line Columbia family, the grandson of Mr. Milton Lee, Sr. and Rosa Grissom. He was the son of the late Charlie and Eleanor Clift. He leaves six direct living descendants.

David Lee Clift, 72, of Smyrna, Tennessee, died Sunday, December 6, 2015 at The Waterford in Smyrna, TN.

A private burial was held on Monday, December 7, 2015 in Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY.



David Lee Clift, 72, Columbia, KY native (1943-2015)


He was born June 6, 1943, in Columbia, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Charlie and Eleanor Grissom Clift. He died Sunday, December 6, 2015, in Smyrna, TN, at the age of 72 years, six months.

He was a retired Industrial Engineer and had served in the National Guard. He was a grandson of the late Milton Lee, Sr. and Rosa Grissom.

Survivors include:
  • Two daughters: Maggie Bahou of Brentwood, Tennessee; and Mary Eleanor Girton of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee

  • One sister: Charlie Margaret Hairston of Littleton, North Carolina

  • Four grandchildren
