Lake Cumberland Senior Centers reach goal on Giving Tuesday By Donna Diaz Giving Tuesday, 2015 is history. On behalf of the Senior Center Directors and staff in all ten counties in the Lake Cumberland Region, I extend a hearty "Thank You" to all local celebrities who gave of your time to participate in the "Jail and Bail" for Senior Services throughout the region. Another huge "Thank You" to all the donors who helped our volunteer "inmates" to make bail. Your efforts have certainly brightened our day and the spirits of all those involved in senior programs in the region. Our goal for the day was to raise $10,000. With your help, this goal was met and exceeded. As pledges come in and are calculated, we will report back to you; both on the total amount raised and on the way in which funds are used to meet the needs of the program. We also solicit your continued support, as we plan to participate in Giving Tuesday, 2016 on November 29, 2015. next year. We encourage everyone to visit the Lake Area Foundation Facebook page to view photographs and get a glimpse of the fun and excitement of that day. If you intended to participate, but forgot, it is not too late. Donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 1570, Russell Springs, KY 42642 or taken to your local Senior Center. Provide your name and address in order to receive a tax deduction letter from Lake Area Foundation. Sincerely, - Donna Diaz, Executive Director This story was posted on 2015-12-07 11:50:02
