She was a long time employee of Liberty Sportswear and Fruit of the Loom and retired from Kentucky Department of Transportation. Edith was a member of the Thomas Ridge Christian Church

Edith Roy passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 at her home in Dunnville, KY. She was 68.

Funeral services are 1pmCT/2pmET, Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at McKinney- Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Hershel Lawhorn officiating. Burial will follow in Thomas Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday 10amCT/11amET until funeral service.


Edith Roy, 68, Dunnville, KY (1947-2015)


Born March 2, 1947 in Russell County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Earnest Cova Popplewell and Alta Bray Popplewell. She died Monday, December 7, 2015, in Dunnville, KY, at the age of 68 years, 10 months, and five days.

She was a long time employee of Liberty Sportswear and Fruit of the Loom and retired from Kentucky Department of Transportation. Edith was a member of the Thomas Ridge Christian Church in Casey County, KY.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Jackie Roy of Dunnville, KY, and the following:
  • A son: Dennis (and Tonya) Roy of Dunnville, KY

  • A daughter: Tammy (and Frankie) Luttrell of Dunnville, KY

  • A grandchild: Ryan Luttrell

  • A brother: Jerry Whittle of Jamestown, KY

  • Four sisters: Louise Reeder of Jamestown, KY; Patsy Hudson of Jamestown, KY; Janice Wall of Russell Springs, KY; and Billie Jo Mann of Livingston, Tennessee
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Earl Popplewell.
