On to Creelsboro...(once called Campellsburg)

The story starts out in Adair County, KY, and flashbacks to Green County, shires in which the present riverport, Creelsboro, was located...that's verse - or maybe a chapter in the story of Creelsboro, a story within itself, historian Mike Watson notes. In this story, the issue of the day was getting the Green County Court to maintain the Greensburg to Creelsboro roadway.
Click on headline for complete story, a must read for anyone remotely interested in history - but of supreme interest to the host of Creelsboro devotees

By Mike Watson, Adair County Historian

On the motion of William Caldwell, Clerk of the Adair County Court, reviewers were appointed to keep up the road from Columbia to the ferry, operated by Mr. Campbell, on the Cumberland River, in March 1803. A small settlement grew up around the Campbell ferry, the community came to be known as Campbellsburg. Mr. Campbell died about 1814 and the next to operate the ferry was a Mr. Flowers.

The after picture of the pruned Snowball bush is awesome

Delighted to see Billy Joe Fudge article on pruning the right way

Colleen Bardin writes:
I was delighted to see this article regarding the trimming of shrubs, etc. Just a couple of hours ago, I had seen some men using electric clippers to trim some shrubs and remarked to my husband that I didn't like the way that looked, it isn't natural. I told him that trimming can be done, if one will take the time, so that it looks natural. That Snowball bush looks awesome. --Colleen Bardin

Kentucky Color - The Art of Pruning

Click on headline for Kentucky Color with photo(s)

By Billy Joe Fudge, Retired District Forester
Kentucky Division of Forestry

Pruning done correctly should be neat, fresh, natural and undetectable. Similar to a fine haircut in that the appearance is enhanced because the overall ambiance is neater, fresher, and more natural but the observer should not be able to discover that a haircut is the catalyst.

Looking at the before and after photos of our 18 year old, Weeping Snowball Crabapple reveal a neater, cleaner setting but looking at the after photo only does not reveal that a pruning has taken place. - Billy Joe Fudge

(Ad) Two sets of golf clubs advertised on CM sold past week

(June 22, 2013, 1:58amCT) - Two sets of golf clubs sold in 1 week - In the past week, CM has listed two sets of golf clubs for sale, with photo ad support. One set sold within 48 hours. The other took 7 days. Now there are no listings for golf items in the category.

If you have golf clubs, golf carts, or anything related the sport which you no longer need, why not list it in ColumbiaMagazine.com Golf. Current Costs are low: $10 for a 4-line text ad; $35 with a photo. (For rate updates, see RATES & TERMS which also has instructions for submitting your ad. If you encounter difficulties emailing, phone 270-250-2730 for assistance. - CM

Buying, selling, renting, giving away, finding or just looking for a great opportunity - it's all easier and more economical - in time and money - when you use CM Classifieds. They simply work amazingly well, as anyone who has read or heard testimony about these mighty wonders. Check them each time you visit ColumbiaMagazine.com.

Remember: Many of the marketing miracles work best on the weekend. CM Classifieds have sold items on Sunday, listed the same Sunday - and there's that unforgettable moment in Rentals history, when in the course of three days, three different landlords rented items the same or next day - using just CM Display ads - they cost $35, but wow! Just Look at the PAYBACK! A $600 a month rental returns the cost of the ad in less than 2 days of rental income! And that's not counting the savings in time. Often, that's an even bigger bonus. - CM
