Carlos Hurt, 75, of Russell Springs, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington. Graveside service for Carlos Hurt will be 2pmCT/3pmET, Sunday, June 23, 2013, at the Russell Springs City Cemetery. Burial in the Russell Springs City Cemetery.

He was born Februry 24, 1938 in Jackson, Breathitt County, KY. He was the son of the late Jasper & Dora Campbell Hurt. He died Wednesday, June 19, 2013, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 75 years, 3 months, and 23 days.

He was a Veteran of the US Navy and a member of the Church of Christ.

He was retired from Alcoa Aluminum.

Survivors include his wife Dinah Popplewell Hurt, and the following:
  • Three children: Kay Phelps, Utah; Jill Hamilton, Louisville, KY; Gina Moore, Sellersburg, IN

  • Two step children: Judy Potts, Vancouver, British Columbia; Jenny Walker, Georgetown, KY

  • Eight grandchildren

  • One great grandchild

  • One sister: Janice Kelly, Jackson, KY
