He was a native of Taylor County, KY, the son of the late Bruce Allison wilson and Cynthia Ellen Polly Wilson. He leaves 8 direct living descendants. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Elkhorn Masonic Lodge #568 F&AM. He was a retired superintendent for Nally & Gibson Surfacing Company.

James Allen "Petie" Wilson, 72, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 10:45amET, Friday, June 21, 2013 in Lexington, KY.

The funeral service will be 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Pastor Gary Phelps and Bro. Brad Lauer. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmCT, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Lonnie Barton, John Deener, Mike Durham, Bro. Ken Forman, Max Heath, Mike Hall, Gary Osborne, Bill Smith, and David Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers: Discipleship Training Class of Campbellsville Baptist Church.

James Allen "Petie" Wilson was the son of the late Bruce Allison Wilson and Cynthia Ellen Polly Wilson. He was born in Taylor County, KY, June 22, 1940. He died Friday, June 21, 2013 in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 72 years, 11 months, and 29 days. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Elkhorn Masonic Lodge #568 F&AM. He was a retired superintendent for Nally & Gibson Surfacing Company.

He is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters: Nancy Wilson Ferrante and husband, Frank of Campbellsville, KY; and Carolyn Wilson Phelps and husband, Gary of Somerset, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Alex Ferrante, Jenna Ferrante, Jacob Ferrante, Spencer Phelps, Garrett Phelps and Jackson Phelps

  • Special friend: Judy Shofner of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends
He was also preceded in death two brothers: David E. Wilson and Tommy H. Wilson and a foster brother and sister: Bobby Briscoe and Mattie Briscoe Seeley.
