Rev. Patton recalls visiting soldier's parents after death of son Another chapter in the life of an Adair County hero, PFC Harold Leonard Burton, who was killed in action in World War II. Rev. Willie Patton was pastor of Purdy Separate Church. He baptized Harold Leonard Burton, officiated at his funeral. Rev. Paul Patton remembers visiting Alec and Rosie Burton to comfort them, with his father after PFC Burton was killed in action. 'What a sad time it was,' he recalls. Burton's gravemarker in the Columbia Magazine caused me to go to my Mother's picture collection where she had a picture of PFC Harold Burton as well as a picture of his parents, Alec and Rosie Burton holding a picture of their son. My father, Rev. Willie Patton was the pastor of the Burton family at Purdy Separate Baptist Church for a period of 18 years and had baptized Harold when he was 12 years of age. Dad also officiated at Harold's funeral on January 2, l949 at the Purdy church. The banner - known in the NAIA as "Big Red" - was unveiled during halftime of the LWC-Rio Grande (Rio Grande, Ohio) University men's basketball game and placed on the Biggers Center wall next to the program's first two national titles, won in 2004 and 2006, respectively. The LWC women's soccer team won the 2012 NAIA national title December 1, 2012. KSP arrests Leitchfield man on 20 counts of child porn Act on tip from Knox County, TN, Sheriff's Department By MTPR Norman Chaffins, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 4, Elizabethtown, KY LEITCHFIELD, KY - On Wednesday, January 30, 2013, KSP Units from Post 4 arrested 48-year-old Michael E. Alcorn for 20 counts of Distribution of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance of a Minor-1st Offense at his residence on Orchard Street in Leitchfield. The charges stemmed from a tip from the Knox County (Tennessee) Sheriff's Department. Investigators were able to identify Alcorn as the suspect. A search warrant was executed which revealed illicit images of children. Alcorn was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center, Leitchfield, KY.
