Leslie R. Sapp tells how name of Combest Drive came about Leslie R. Sapp suggested name to Mary Alexander, to honor the famous thoroughbred jockeys whose family lived there; so it honors historic Combest farm, instead of receiving another neat name his wife suggested for it. Leslie R Sapp writes: So sorry to her of the passing of Mr. Jimmy Combest, the family is in our prayers. My name is Leslie Sapp, My wife and I moved on to the farm on or about 2004.. For about the first month we did not even have a address here. Knowing some of the history of the farm when Mary Allender got around to us, the road was named by me as Combest Drive. I think it would be neat to see a plaque telling of the history. My wife still gets a little perturbed about it. She wonted it named after her, Lois Lane. Never thought I would be living in the Tobacco Patch in Joppa.....lol - Leslie R SappComments re article 56868 Sad word of the passing of 2nd of racings Combest brothers 2013-01-10 19:36:08 | Comments | Printable version

Glad to see energetic debate about spending tax dollars But he asks, why is nothing being done beyond promises to make our streets safe to cross, and our sidewalks secure? At relatively no costs? Before tragedy visits again, as it has so many times before? Comments re photo 48149 Can we afford that Robert By Billy Joe Fudge I am thankful to see energetic debate about how our hard earned tax dollars are being spent. I know few who are against "legitimate" investments in our community which make all our lives safer, more comfortable and prosperous. However, I know no one who is for wasting money on frivolous, feel good projects that don't address either safety, comfort or prosperity.
