Best I can tell, it's something of a blend of the best of the Pendennis Club in Louisville, the NRA, the Explorers' Club of New York City, and National Geographic Club, and Wallace Harden's Sportsman's Club. (I joined that one; the late Henry Giles sold me a $2 membership; all proceeds went to pay Mr. Harden's hunting fines).
