Billy Joe Fudge: Winter Creeper is silent killer of trees By Billy Joe Fudge, Retired District Forester Kentucky Division of Forestry This tree destroyer from hell is more often referred to around these parts as Winter Creeper and should be listed as a leach rather than a plant. It is a silent killer of trees and particularly urban trees whose trunks are more exposed to sunlight which enhances Winter Creeper's ability to strangle and suffocate its victims. If the trunk of your tree is leafy green right now then you most likely have Winter Creeper. Cut the vine down close to the ground and do not let it climb back up the tree. -Billy Joe Fudge Comments re article 55806 Geo Ks treelike Christmasy shrub also called Winter Creeper 2012-11-12 03:38:50 | Comments | Printable version
