Copter at C/AC International was on military maneuvers, too

Comments re article 43360 JOPPA KY: What are big lowflying helicopters doingMarsha Walker writes:
Several years ago, a similar activity occurred at our local airport. A very large helicopter would come at night and hover over the airport property for several minutes near our house. It happened a few times, and we were concerned, so we asked the state police to come check it out. The trooper got out on the runway and signaled the copter to land, but it would not. We later learned it was an Army copter performing some type of night training. -Marsha Walker
Thanks, Ms. Walker. Of course there's always a too logical answer to little mysteries. And of course we can all trust that they know what they are doing, whether on clandestine maneuvers at C/AC International Airport or on low flying practice runs from Seward Air Force over Breedingtown.

Casey kid thrilled by version of Tv show: Coming home

Annita Barnett goes to great lengths to surprise the little sister of Jordan Baker, just back from England and a deployment to Afghanistan - to stage a really special event for the Keitha Lee when she walked into the CWC cafeteria today
Click on headline for story plus photo(s)

By Patty Jones, Principal
News from Colonel William Casey School

If anyone has watched the new show this season called "Coming Home" then you know the scenario...a military person comes home to surprise an unsuspecting family member. Today at Col. Wm. Casey the producers could have filmed an episode of that show.

Jordan Baker, brother of Keitha Lee, a kindergartner at CWC, has been stationed in England for the past two years. During that time he also was deployed to Afghanistan for over three months. Today he shocked his little sister Keitha when she walked into the school cafeteria to find him standing there.

The mother of the two, Annita Barnett, was behind the big event. She had to go as far as to sneak Jordan into his own house last night after he arrived home, and Keitha had gone to bed in order to maintain the surprise. The look of joy on Keitha's face when she saw Jordan and the tears on their mother's face let everyone know that this was a special moment that this family will remember a lifetime

Last week we had a large helicopter fly over our place. It looked like an Army type green one with props on both ends, It seemed to be flying rather low. It vibrated the ground where I was standing.
