CU ranked No. 32 in first regular season NAIA Baseball Poll From Chris Megginson, Campbellsville University KANSAS CITY- Campbellsville University is ranked No. 32 in the first regular-season NAIA Baseball Coaches' Poll, released Tuesday by the NAIA office. The Tigers dropped 15 spots from its preseason ranking of No. 17 in the NAIA. CU opened the season 0-4 and was 4-8 after two weeks of action but have since won 13 of its last 16 games, including a seven-game win streak mid-March. Campbellsville is currently leading the Mid-South Conference West Division with a -3 record and leads the MSC ratings. Georgetown College, which received one vote for No. 25 in the poll, is second in the MSC ratings and two games behind the Tigers in the MSC West. Oklahoma City University holds top spot in the NAIA poll after starting the season No. 7 and posting a 27-3 record. Lee University (29-6) remains second with two first-place votes, followed by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (FL), who started the season No. 6 and posted a 29-7 record. Oklahoma Baptist went from receiving votes to No. 4 with a 36-5 record, while Brewton-Parker College (GA) rounds out the Top 5 with a 23-7 record. Campbellsville has played four teams currently ranked in the Top 25: No. 10 Faulkner University, No. 17 Cumberland University, No. 20 Missouri Baptist University and No. 21 Auburn University Montgomery. The four combine for seven of Campbellsville's 11 loses this season. Faulkner and AUM each swept CU to open the season, while MBU took two games in Campbellsville on March 8. Cumberland University snapped the Tigers' seven-game win streak in Lebanon, T., March 22, 2011. The Tigers next six games are scheduled against teams currently receiving votes in the poll, as CU hosts Georgetown College for a pair of MSC West doubleheaders Friday and Saturday, April 1-2, 2011. CU will travel to No. 29 Trevecca Nazarene University on Monday, April 4, 2011, and then will host No. 17 Cumberland University on Wednesday, April 6, 2011.
