Absentee voting indicates interest is very high in election!

Absentee Machine Voting up almost 38% from 4 years ago. Paper absentee ballots returned to be counted already show almost 25% increase, and more are expected tomorrow

By Ed Waggener

If the voting on the absentee machine in the office of Adair County Court Clerk Sheila Blair is any indication, turnout will be very high on election day tomorrow, Tuesday, May 18, 2010.

This year 235 voters cast absentee ballots on the machines, compared to 170 in the primary 4 years ago in 2006. That's an increase of over 38%.

The increase in the number of paper absentee ballots is also high. In the 2006 primary, 150 ballots were mailed back to be counted.
