Sara (Katie) Melton will be inducted in national honors society

Sara "Katie" Melton of Columbia, KY, has been accepted in The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS). She will be honored during an Induction Convocation this fall on the campus of Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green.

Katie is the daughter of Gary and Ann Melton of Columbia, KY. She is a graduate of Adair County High School, where she was class president and was a member of the Adair County High School Marching Band.



She ia currently majoring in biology and pre-Medical courses at Western Kentucky University.

"NSCS is more than just a symbol of academic achievement," Stephen E. Loflin, NSCS executive Director said. "Membership give students access to a number of amazing benefits including career and networking resources, scholarships, travel, and service projects both on campus and in the community.

NSCS is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies, and is the nation's only inter-disciplinary honors organization for first- and second-year college students. Membership is by invitation only, based on grade point average and class standing.

NSCS has more than 675,000 lifetime members and 250 chapters in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.

She is active in Alpha Epsilon Delta and the Medallion Honors Society at Western. At Adair County High School, she served as class president and was member of the ACHS Marching Band.She is the daughter of Gary and Ann Melton, Columbia, KY
