By Ashley Zendenyi, CU Staff Writer

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - Greg Fountain, who led Campbellsville University and the nation in rushing last season, was named the Offensive MVP for the Nationals in the Third Annual College Franz/Victory Sports Network NAIA "Senior Classic" played April 25 in Plate City, MO.

The 6-3, 231-pound Fountain led all rushers in the game with 67 yards with a workmanlike 23 carries. Fountain broke the game's longest run of 20 yards in the second quarter, setting up his team's second touchdown. But his work during the Nationals' first scoring drive, when he ran for 5, 2 and 11 yards on three consecutive carries, helped set up his 2-yard TD scamper. He also caught a 9-yard pass.

Home Place: Abandoned house on CWB inspires reflection

The sight of a wonderful old house prompted Tony Harvey to imagine some earlier times which may have been better. "We call it progress, today, but really at what cost?" He asked. And comes up with a suggestion on continuing to enjoy simple pleasures from a few decades ago, "Turn off the cell phone, leave the desktop or laptop turned off as well. Forget about watching your favorite program that comes on tonight. Take the time too sit and smell the roses."

While out driving one day this small house caught my eye, so I came back to get a closer look. To the average motorist passing by it looks to be just another run down abandoned home. To me, in it's day it was a beautiful place to live and if those walls could speak, imagine they would possibly tell this story.

Healthy family activities are fun, easy, healthy - and cheap!

It starts with limiting video game, computer, and Tv time, and goes all the way to teaching children the games we all loved as children. It's as cheap as marking off a hopscotch court or making a kite out of items you already have. Comments, related stories and photos (old or new picture of kids playing hopscotch) on this wonderful set of suggestions from Kelli Bonifer are invited. CM

By Kelli Bonifer, Adair Co. Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences

Most parents know children are like sponges, constantly absorbing our words and actions. By practicing healthy habits with your children, you can set them on the right course for a healthy life. One way to do this is to encourage family physical activity.

For news items: Street #, Street, City and State

It's very important. Thanks for remembering the Street and Street number for your Events, Yard Sales, and all news items.

There is absolutely no other way which is easier to use to locate an event than the Street, Street Number, City, and State.

Nothing shows an organization cares about the safety of visitors than the posting of the number, preferably with a reflective sign, on the lawn or building. Adair County, KY, has the best emergency response system anywhere on earth; the best way to show support for the Emergency Responders is by posting reflective street numbers at venues. They are available from the Adair County Sheriff's Office 500 Public Square, Columbia, KY.

Almost all venues, including cemeteries, playing fields, campus buildings, schools, and churches have been assigned street numbers. They are available by calling Mary Allender, Adair County 911 Coordinator, 107 N. High Street, Columbia, KY at (270) 384-4760. This is the administrative number and will not interfere with 911 dispatching.
