Feedback: Only reason for land line is to be in directory

Is local cell phone directory neededTo ColumbiaMagazine.com

I for one would love the idea (of a local cell phone directory). I think it should be optional whether you want your cell phone number listedl not everyone would. Where I have a Business, the only reason I have a land line phone is to be listed in the directory so people can call Information to get my number. Then I pay extra for a package so I can keep my land line forwarded to my cell phone. I never talk on my land line.

The only use I get out of it is the internet, and if I didn't need the phone directory, I could just get an internet line for a lot less money.

HallowRead: A 'Bewitching' evening for students, parents

By Ellen Zornes
Last evening proved to be 'bewitching' indeed as over 400 creatures of the night as well as rock singers and princesses were spotted at the fifth annual HallowRead held at Adair County Elementary School! From the reading and activity rooms, to the strolling 'haunted' characters, to the pizza and soft drinks, to the face painters, to the weird scientists, to substance abuse awareness displays, to the 'witchy' intercom emcee--we had a 'howling' good time!

Question: Is a local Cell Phone Directory needed?

A reader has suggested that there needs to be a Cell Phone Directory like like the ones the phone companies have for land-line numbers.

"A lot of people are using their cell phones in place of land-land phones," the reader wrote. "People say this is one way--using cell phones--to save money!"

Feedback: SC KY schools conduits for dialogue

About:Photo, KHIPP forum

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

Failure to credit constructive action, blame for the guiltless, and spinning the truth is the holy trinity of selfish, destructive behavior and bad government.

Thoughtful, informed, and honest dialog is the foundation of freedom, the essence of community, and the engine of democracy.

I have had the pleasure of setting in on the Mountain Top Removal Forum at Lindsey Wilson College recently and, of course, the Forum on Presidential Politics last week at Campbellsville University. Thank God that our South Central Kentucky institutions of higher learning are conduits for thoughtful, informed, and honest dialogue.

Big Rig Big League Sportswriter: On the Chicago hotdog

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

Anyone who has ever been to Chicago knows you have to have a kosher dill for it to be a Chicago hotdog! May be willing to give it a try if they can accomodate me with the kosher too. I will let you know. I also hope it is an all beef hot dog. Portillo's has some of the best Chicago hotdogs in the Windy City! Chicagoans take our food seriously. We do not like imposters!

Big Al Owens

Editor's note: Whether it's got celery salt, a pickle spear, neon green relish, sport peppers, or whether the tube is beef, buffalo, or hog meat, we don't think you'll find anything in Chicago, New York City, or even Clifton, NJ which is the equal of the hotdogs sold here. We eat them here because they're good, not because they're orthodox. If you want to pour a whole bottle of ketchup on it, it's your business, in this blessed land of open hot dog communion. -EW
