Don Franklin's funeral -- a reflection of his life

Don Franklin's funeral was a reflection of all he had been to his family, friends and customers over the years of his life. Several hundred people filled every corner of the dealership building to pay their final respects.

Harmonies filled the air with his favorite songs, sung without musical insruments, holding with the tradition of his Church of Christ.

The first to speak was his long-time friend and business associate Richard Lee Walker.

Comment on: "Around Adair with Ed Waggener:
Tomato Days, restaurants, recipes & criticis, including thoughts on grandson & Ronald McDonald House

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

My family stayed in the Louisville Ronald McDonald House when my first grandson was born. They were a blessing to us. They were there for us through a very difficult time.

Also, I have lived here all my life and I really enjoy your writing about people and things around town. And I am for the biscuit and mater. Keep up the great work.

s/Pattie McClister

Thanks so much. I truly appreciate your comments. -EW

Two horses free to good home

ANIMALS

This extraordinary offer just arrived, and is now posted in CM Classifieds:
Two horses free to good home
I have two horses, a TW mare who is 8, and an arab/barb mix gelding who is 4. They are both healthy and have been trail ridden, gentle horses. I am wanting to have more donkeys, and due to time (no time to ride horses) and space, I just want to find these two a good home. Rather than take them to auction or some such, I would rather just find a nice family or individual who wants a horse and cannot perhaps find a nice gentle one or two. I would prefer that these two go together, as they have been stable mates, and they get along great together. Both horses are dark brown. Gelding has four white feet, mare has two white feet. Both have stars on their foreheads. Call anytime (leave a message with name and number if I am not home) and I will get back to you. Mary or Bruce (270) 378-4773. Horses are located in Breeding, KY.
