Letter: Ban smoking in all public places, including outdoors

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

I personally think that human life and quality of life should be always be considered more important than any amount of money.

How much pain, suffering , misery , and loss of life will it take for us to realize what the long term effect of smoking and yes, secondhand smoke really is?????

Yes, ban smoking in all public places including outdoor areas!!!!!!!

Director of Lake Cumberland District Health Department (Retired)

Letter: COF thinks proprietor has right to set smoking rules

Comment on Letter: Eric Goodin against smoking ban

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

As someone who has been addicted to nicotine for well over 50 years, I hesitate to put my dog in this fight but as Miz Emily puts it: "'taint never stopped me before."

I have a hard time understanding the arguments for or again. Seems both sides tend to get all het up an so emotional that neither one seems to make much sense.

Letter: Eric Goodin against smoking ban

Response to: Reader advocates smoking ban

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

I would not support a smoking ban. Yes, I smoke but, tobacco is still Adair County's biggest legal income.

There are non-smoking sections in almost all restaurants in the county and some have banned smoking all together.

Letter: Reader advocates smoking ban

"We only patronize nonsmoking eateries. I am asthmatic and the smoke really bothers me . . . My father died from emphysema caused by second hand smoke -HEIDI CARON

Hi, Ed,

I'd like to know how many residents of Columbia would support a smoking ban in public places. My husband and I would love to be able to go to a restaurant without the stink of cigarette smoke.

We only patronize nonsmoking eateries. I am asthmatic and the smoke really bothers me.
