GAS PRICE DRUMBEAT: Don't buy gas on 2 days a week

Says not buying gas on Thursdays and Fridays might get price drop

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

As everyone knows, the price of gas is going up, but is there a reason for the gas to be 10 cents higher here in Adair County, and who is behind the pricing?

The gas in Burkesville is $3.45 gal, and $3.55 in Russell County. We are going to Campbellsville tonight and I will see what the price is there.

Someone is getting their pockets filled, and it's hard enough for everyone to pay these prices, much less spiking it at a $3.75 per gallon. Ten cents makes a big difference.

I believe if everyone would stop buying gas on Thursdays and Fridays, maybe they would drop the price to match other counties.

Director Thomas, GRAS staff visit Camp Casey

By Dana Harmon
The Green River Animal Shelter helped Camp Casey participants celebrate National Be Kind to Animals Week on Wednesday afternoon. GRAS staff brought some of the animals from the shelter to visit with the students and talk to them about how to take care of their own pets.

GRAS Director Jeff Thomas said the most important thing we can do to protect our pets is to put our names on their collar or have an identification chip implanted by a veteranarian. That way if our pet wanders away from home, whoever finds it will know who it belongs to.

Other shelter staff who came were, Garret Luttrell, April Janes, Randy Richards and Heather Evans.

We really appreciate the GRAS Staff coming to visit us and we appreciate the work they do even more!

COF reports magnificent red foxes in Knifley area

Theirs are more than just beautiful creatures; also serve utilitarian purpose of keeping turkey population in check

Comment on Little Foxes of Tabor Photo by Tony Harvey

ColumbiaMagazine.com
re: your comments to Melissa Taylor on the rarity of Red Foxes in God's county:
Up here at Dun Roman we have three foxes tho' only one is what I would call a true Red Fox. He is a large magnificent specimen deep red with a huge bushy dark tail. The other two are smaller and we have presumed they are vixens. One is sorta reddish brown in color but the other one is more of a light tan with large mottled dark patches.

We often see them run together or alone from the area of the cave or the pond down in the hollow across either the back or front meadow. From the forensic evidence they seem to be rather adept at holding our large turkey population in check.

Letter: Little foxes of Tabor are charmers

Comment about: Photo by Tony Harvey

ColumbiaMagazine.com:

I just love the photo of the little foxes in their den!

s/Melissa Taylor

Thanks for writing about what so many have mentioned. Most say it is the first time they've ever seen a photograph of little foxes in Adair County. Few of us have ever actually seen. I can count on two fingers the number of red foxes I had ever seen in the wild before Tony Harvey's photograph. -EW
