CU students serve as interns at Fort Knox By Lt. Col. William Ritter, assistant professor of public relations FORT KNOX, KY - Tempers flared, voices yelled and gunfire roared in the background. It could be a CNN report from many places around the world. This reality, however, was simply an incredibly realistic war simulation, teaching five Campbellsville University students mass communication techniques under extreme conditions, during their summer internships with the Army's Cadet Command. Campbellsville University's Trent Taylor of Kevil, KY; Kaitlyn Hill of White Pigeon, MI; Angel Whittle of Russell Springs, KY; Kasey Ricketts of Jackson, MI; and Steffanie Hampton of Onondaga, MI, each part of the university's Mass Communications' major or minor program, participated in the Army's 12-week college internship program hosted by Cadet Command. LWC Women's Golf takes 6th at SCAD Atlanta Fall Invitational Tara Rodenhurst and Courtney Vincent provided the best Blue Raider finishes Click on headline for complete story By Charles Balcom COVINGTON, GA - The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team finished in sixth place at the SCAD Atlanta (GA) Fall Invitational following the conclusion of the second and final round on Tuesday. The Blue Raiders shaved one stroke off of their day-one total 308 to card a 307 in the final round at the par-71, 5,802-yard Oaks Golf Club, finishing at 47-over as a team (615). Lindsey Wilson finished two strokes behind fifth-place Point (GA) and five strokes ahead of seventh-place Brenau (GA) in the nine-team tournament. Tara Rodenhurst and Courtney Vincent provided the best Blue Raider finishes at the event as the duo tied for 18th place in the individual standings after finishing at 10-over for the event. Rodenhurst matched her 76 in the first round with another 76 on day two while Vincent moved 10 spots up the leaderboard after trimming her 78 in the opening round down to a 3-over par 74 on the final day. Dacie Bolton finished one stroke behind Rodenhurst and Vincent with a 153 (76-77) in a tie for 20th place. Shayna Cockrill took 27th place with a 16-over 158 (78-80) and Ashley Strong completed the squad with a 167 (83-84) in 36th place out of the field of 48. Point's Courtney Lowery took home medalist honors after edging SCAD Atlanta's Rachita Vasandani by one stroke. Lowery shot 5-under for the tournament.
