Local music groups to be showcased at Homeplace Festival Groups and Singers include Foster Children, Sharon Payne, Carousel Stampede, Neal Sneed, and The Exie Bluegrass Boys. Fall Festival 2016 events start at 8:50amCT/9:50amET and continue all day, Saturday, September 10, 2016, with events all day, a HOMEPLACE on GREEN RIVER, 5807 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY. Event is free, but there is a $10 parking fee. Food available. By George Kolbenschlag Live music will keep Saturday's Homeplace Fall Heritage Festival hopping throughout the day. Five music groups will perform gospel, blue grass, country and contemporary music. Leading off at 10amCT/11amET, and returning to the festival will be The Foster Children. The Foster Children Band, based in Greensburg, KY, is a bluegrass band that plays traditional bluegrass, along with bluegrass gospel. They have been playing bluegrass music for more than 30 years. The group features Ronald Curry on banjo, guitar and vocals, Gerald Foster on guitar and vocals, Andrea Smith on vocals, Lizi Durham on mandolin, Grant Curry on mandolin, guitar and fiddle, and Mike Mills on upright bass. At 11amCT/12pmET, Sharon Payne will be singing gospel. Sharon is well loved in the area for her commanding voice and beautiful rendition of gospel music. Sharon is the lead singer and Musical Director for the Eunice Church of God. At 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, The Carousel Stampede will be on stage. The Stampede is a group of three old friends who love to get together to play music and have fun. Easton Bryant, Neil Goodin and Nick Kemp will play many types of music, and like to mix it up. There were also at last year's festival. At 1pmCT/2pmET Neal Sneed and the Dream Depot Singers will also be returning to the Homeplace stage singing a wide-range of songs from music from the '40s to modern hits, country and gospel. They have been singing together for over 20 years. They are enthusiastic performers, reacting to their audience with lively and entertaining music About 2:15pmCT/3:15pmET, The Exie Bluegrass Boys, featuring members of the Curry Family, born in the community of Exie, in Green County. They play traditional bluegrass and bluegrass gospel. Their music makes good use of guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle and base. They made some of their instruments themselves. They, too, have been regulars at the Festival. The Homeplace Fall Heritage Festival offers a variety of family oriented events including hay and mule wagon rides, arts and crafts sales and exhibits, colonial reenactors, animal shows and exhibits, the Department of Agriculture\'s Mobile Science Activities Center, good food and a variety of other activities for all ages. The $10/car parking fee includes all of the festival activities except purchases of food and arts and crafts from vendors. Homeplace on Green River is located at 5807 New Columbia Road (Kentucky highway 55) between Columbia and Campbellsville.
