Big Al reports in from Cubs Spring Training, Mesa, AZ - Album Big Al says he, and Las Vegas, think 1916 is the year the Cubs will win the series for the first time in 108 year! Click on headline for story, w/photo(s) By Big Al Owens, the Big Rig Trucker I have been in Mesa, AZ hanging out at the Spring Training for the Chicago Cubs. I met Tom Ricketts, he is the owner of the Chicago Cubs, and I've met some of the players and have been having a great time here in the Phoenix area. The Cubs have not won the World Series since 1908. They have not been to the World Series since 1945 when they lost to the Detroit Tigers. Las Vegas has the Chicago Cubs as the favorite to win the World Series in 2016. I have been a Cubs fan since my Dad introduced me to baseball in 1974. I have watched many losing seasons in Chicago, so I am really excited about the possibility of seeing the Cubs go all the way. I only wish that my Dad was here to see it I've taken some pictures which I hope everyone back in Columbia and friends elsewhere all over the country enjoy. - Big Al, the Big Rig Trucker 2016-02-24 17:43:53 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Letters and Reader Feedback
