LWC Women's Swimming No. 7 in latest NAIA Coaches' Poll

Highest in program history

By Charlie Balcom

The Lindsey Wilson women's swim team moved up two spots to No. 7 in the final regular-season edition of the 2015-16 NAIA Women's Swimming & Diving Coaches' Poll, the national office announced on Wednesday.

The No. 7 ranking is the highest in Blue Raider women's swimming history, surpassing the No. 9 ranking achieved earlier this season.

Lindsey Wilson collected 16 total team points from the national raters, moving up two spots from No. 9 in the previous poll.

The top three teams in the poll went unchanged as SCAD Savannah (GA) remains No. 1 with 65 points and all five first-place votes. Brenau (GA) is No. 2 with 54 points and Cumberlands (KY) is third with 49 points.

Lindenwood-Belleville (IL) is also ranked from the Mid-South Conference, coming in at No. 10. The Blue Raiders are fresh off a runner-up finish at the MSC Championships on February 6, 2016.

Lindsey Wilson is currently preparing for the 2016 NAIA National Championships.
