Jerome T. Paula Curry: Why is it wrong for bootleggers, right for county? Paula Curry Pyles writes: Seems funny to me that for years and years, the bootleggers have done what you all are wanting to make legal. If it was wrong for them to sell it, then why all of a sudden is it ok to make it legal? When money is involved, even the worst sins are all of a sudden ok! Long as the county can make money from it! Our world is in a bad way, when we measure success of a county, by whether or not liquor sales are legal! --Paula Curry PylesComments re article 80097 PAC now needs just 239 signatures to get wetdry vote 2016-01-12 20:27:36 | Comments | Printable version
Letter: Police have their cups full Brenda Henson writes: Granny Nannie you are right they will get it, but we don't have to have it so easy for people to get, and also why bring preachers in on this matter, maybe. Preachers will pray harder for lost people and put in an extra dollar for lost people. I pray it don't pass and ask that every one else feels the same. Sue T. Buley scolds 'Jerome T. Gandy' Sue Buley writes: 'Jerome T.Gandy' may be correct in bootleggers or other businesses in adjoining counties worried about losing dollars to legal alcohol sales. However, I highly doubt that "the preachers, who apparently are terrified the collection plate might be a dollar lighter or that they might lose an infinitesimal amount of control over the flock should alcohol become legally available" is the case. It is also highly offensive to the Christian community who value their churches and pastors. While you may have meant this to be a factual, yet tongue-in-cheek comment, it actually made you look small and belittling. - Sue BuleyComments re article 80081 Jerome T Gandy candidly rants on Russell Co KY wetdry 2016-01-12 15:16:38 | Comments | Printable version
