Campbellsville High School recognizes outstanding achievements History students not the only group to make history. Click on Headline now for an easy-to-scan list of classroom achievers. The list of names, each an amazing success story, is impressive. - CM By Calen McKinney Campbellsville High School students excelled academically last year, and were given awards on Friday, January 8, 2016, to recognize their accomplishments. CHS Guidance Counselor Richard Dooley told students that while they tested into the state's distinguished category last year, this year's goal is to become a school of distinction. To receive that honor, students must test into the 95th percentile in the state. Last year, CHS students were in the 90th percentile. Last year was the first time in CHS history that students tested into the distinguished ranking and 90th percentile. Dooley said 84 percent of last year's seniors were college and/or career ready. Right now, 70 percent are college and/or career ready. Nineteen are college ready, two are career ready and 15 are both college and career ready. He said he believes this year's group of CHS students is on track to become the first ever to be 100 percent college and career ready. CHS Assistant Principal Mark Kearney said being in the 90th percentile means CHS is one of the Top 10 high schools in the state, and that's something to celebrate. "Good things are happening here," he said. "Today's a celebration for you guys, for all you've done." CHS students were presented with CHS Distinguished T-shirts and had fun on Friday, January 8, 2016, during a Sharpen the Saw Day. CHS students who received awards are as follows.
