Click on headline for complete story From U.S. Attorney's office Eastern District of Kentucky LONDON, KY (22 Jun 2015) - A McCreary County couple, who defrauded the Social Security Administration and Kentucky Medicaid out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, has been sentenced in federal court. On Thursday, June 18, U.S. District Judge Gregory F. Van Tatenhove sentenced Oliver Taylor, 59, to 33 months in prison, for theft of government property, health care fraud, and defrauding the Social Security Administration (SSA). Oliver's wife at the time of the offenses, Lisa Taylor, 51, was sentenced to 18 months in prison, for social security fraud. Both defendants have been ordered to pay full restitution to the SSA. Under federal law, they will have to serve at least 85 percent of their prison sentences. Beach at Smith Ridge temporarily closed because of E coli levels Smith's Ridge Beach on Green River Lake is currently closed because of E Coli. By Lori Brewster Forwarded by Larry Smith, The Wave 92.7 and the Big Dawg 99.9 FM Campbellsville, KY - The US Army Corps of Engineers at Green River Lake has temporarily closed the beach located at the Smith Ridge Recreation Area due to high levels of E. Coli bacteria. The Corps of Engineers samples water from three of its beaches: Smith Ridge, Pikes Ridge, and Holmes Bend on a weekly basis. Smith Ridge beach is the only beach currently experiencing the E. Coli contamination. Holmes Bend and Pikes Ridge beaches had acceptable test results. The source of the E. Coli is unknown at this time but continuous monitoring of the beaches will take place. Once the levels of the bacteria drop to a safe level, the beach will reopen.
