CU Piano Ensemble to present its spring concert

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - Campbellsville University Piano Ensemble will present its Spring Concert on Thursday, March 20 at 7pmCT/8pmET, at the Gosser Fine Arts Center in The Gheens Recital Hall. Gosser Fine Arts Center is located at 210 University Drive, Campbellsville, KY. Five students will be participating in this semester's ensemble including Steven Adams, Bardstown, KY; Colleen Ames, Elizabethtown, KY; Hsin-I Guo, Tainan, Taiwan; Jingying Pang, Xian, China; and Jaclyn White, Paducah, KY. The literature will be played by four or more hands at one and two pianos.

This was the view of the grove I saw while walking around the Adair County Fairgrounds, Tuesday night before our meeting, March 18, 2014. It's hard to believe the fair isn't that far off. The dates for the 2014 Adair County Fair and Horse show are July 4, 5, and 7 -12, 2014. We'll be getting more information out shortly on the fair. - Greg Thomas

C-ville Police investigating burglary at Pruyear's Antiques

The owner reported that four large signs, two large thermometer signs and several antique jugs were taken. Campbellsville Police request anyone with information about this crime to contact them at 270-465-4122

The Campbellsville Police Department today, March 18, 2014, discovered a broken window at Pruyear's Antiques on South Central. Officer Bart Gilpin was on patrol in the South Central vicinity of Campbellsville this morning.

During his patrol, Officer Gilpin observed the store front window of the building occupied by Puryear's Antique Store was broken. Officer Gilpin investigated further and discovered a burglary had occurred. The investigation suggests the window had been broken by a large rock thrown through the window.

Feese & McLean awarded courthouse contract
Mr. H.C. Feese and Mr. Fred McLean have been awarded the contract to repaint the court-house, two coats, beginning at the basket, on to the cupalo (sic), and coming to the ground story. This includes all the metal and woodwork. The contractors will probably begin the work this week. The committee appointed to let the contract, will also have all inside work revarnished and repainted. The Committee also expects to have glass put on the dials of the clock and an electric light placed in the dome, in order to see the time after night.

There will be a basketball league beginning on April 3, 2014, at 6pmCT, at the Jim Blair Community Recreation Center 901 Hudson St, Columbia, KY. Their will be a maximum of 6 teams allowed for this league. The league will be an open format. Cost for the league will be $100 per team with a maximum of 10 players per roster. Pursuant to KRS 118.365(5) and KRS 118.367, individuals seeking to run as independent, political organization or political group candidates for certain partisan offices must file their Statement-of-Candidacy forms no later than Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at 4pm in order to be placed on the ballot for the November general election. There is no fee to file a Statement of Candidacy. Candidates for federal offices and mayor or legislative body of cities of the second to sixth class that conduct partisan elections are exempt from this requirement.
