Opal Jeffries Anderson, 93, Knob Lick, KY (d. March 18, 2014)

She was the daughter of the late Louis Henry Jeffries and Ora Lee Robertson Jeffries. She was retired from American Tobacco Company and a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.

Opal Jeffries Anderson age 93 of Knob Lick died Tuesday March 18, 2014 at the home of her caregiver.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Friday, March 21, 2014 at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Big Meadow Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Thursday, March 20, 2014 and after 9amCT, Friday at the funeral home.


She was the daughter of the late Louis Henry Jeffries and Ora Lee Robertson Jeffries. She was retired from American Tobacco Company and a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son: Carlos B. Anderson and wife Evelyn Pearl of London, Kentucky

  • One daughter: Judye Faye and husband Lloyd D. Sonny Hafling Jr of Edmonton, KY

  • Five grandchildren: David and wife Maria Ybarra Anderson of Indonesia; Lisa A. and husband Jason Spencer of New York City; Steven and wife Kellie Anderson of London, Kentucky; Sondra Faye and husband Michael Carmen of Cookeville, TN; Anthony Scott and wife Lorie Hafling of Louisville, KY

  • Seven great grandchildren; Sabin Anderson, Jacob (nickname Totti) Anderson, Analusia Anderson, Coleman Anderson, Gloria Anderson, Logan Hafling and Lindsey Hafling.

  • Her caregivers; Charlotte Bryant and Karen Crews Garmon.

  • Several nieces and nephews also survive
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Preston Anderson; one brother Raymond Jeffries, a sister in law Johnny Mabel Butler Jeffries.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.

The family would like to acknowledge their gratitude to the Palliative Care and Hospice provided by T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky.
