We are gearing up for our annual 4th of July Celebration
on Main Street. It's Kentucky's biggest celebration and it attracts 30 to 50 thousand people and features a parade with dignitaries from all over the commonwealth. Hot-Air Ballons will also be back for this years celebration, the event ends with a big firework show over the Campbellsville City Lake next to Taylor County Elementary School. - Larry Smith, Operations Manager, Shoreline Communications

Adair County Knife Club makes $710 Donation to the Kosair

I really enjoyed seeing the photos ColumbiaMagazine.com made at Antioch church and cemetery in Casey County.

While there are many churches who have Memorial Day Services, this is one of the few who still call theirs a "Decoration Day" service and follow the old order of things.

LWC launches online Master of Education Program

"Teacher as a Leader" Masters program offered 100% online

Called "Teacher as Leader," the 10-course, 30-hour graduate program is designed to help teachers become more effective in the classroom while also strengthening their respective schools.

Ruth Eleanor McComas, 95, Cumberland Co., KY (1918-2013)

She and her husband had business interests in Miami including the Tropicaire and Dixie Drive In Theaters. She was a long-time member of the St. Matthews Episcopal Church. She and the McComas family, early settlers of Cumberland County, have maintained their ties with the community and have supported numerous institutions and projects here including the Cumberland County Library, the Cumberland County Hospital and the Burkesville First Christian Church

Police searching for suspect in reference to theft at Taylor Regional Hospital

The Campbellsville Police Department responded to Taylor Regional Hospital, Campbellsville, KY, at 2pmET, On Monday, June 17, 2013, in reference to a theft of money. After an investigation it was determined that an unknown black male walked into the administrative offices of the hospital and is believed to have taken an undetermined amount of cash from hospital staff.

Officers obtained footage from the hospital's security cameras. Anyone with information please contact the Campbellsville Police Department's Pride Line at, 270-469-7743. Officer Roy Rodgers is the investigating officer. Campbellsville, KY Police Department
