Brad Conover, Adair County, KY (1953-2012)

He was a highly regarded member of the community. He was descended from one of the great mercantile families of Glensfork, KY, a heritage in which he took great pride. He carried a wealth of history of Adair County in his memory, which he freely shared. With his wife, who survives, he did so much to enhance the appearance of the community with handsome restorations. Brad was a member of 3trees Church. He was employed by the Adair County EMS for 15 years and served as the manager for 9 years. He was in medical sales and general sales and was aformer member of the Adair Gideon Camp.

Brad Conover age 58 years of the Glensfork Community passed away Wednesdaymorning May 9, 2012 at 7:13amCT. at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY after an illness.

Funeral services are Friday, May 11, 2012 at 1pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQuearyFuneral Home with Bro. Eric Gilbert the officiating clergy.Interment in Blair Cemetery at Glensfork, KY. Visitation will be after 1pmCT,. Thursday, May 10, 2012.

ACHS Cheerleaders Dancing with the Stars Event planned

The Adair County High School Cheerleaders will be hosting Dancing with the Stars on September 8, 2012. We are looking for dancers from our area, Green, Taylor, Russell and anyone who is wanting/willing to participate. If you are interested, you can contact me through my email address. Entry fees and time will be posted by June 1, 2012

Brenda Propes Crowe, Casey Co., KY (1956-2012)

She was a member of a respected Casey Co., KY family, a homemaker, and attended Cornerstone Assembly of God. She leaves eight direct living descendants

Brenda Propes Crowe, of Stanford, KY, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford. She was 56.

Funeral services will be at 11amET/10amCT, Friday, May 11, 2012, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Bearl King officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9amET Friday at the funeral home.

Shooting follows after alleged assault in domestic altercation

TOMPKINSVILLE, KY - At 5:59amCT, the Kentucky State Police responded to a shooting in Monroe County following a domestic violence altercation.

Upon arriving at the scene on Edmonton Road, Troopers discovered that Amanda Jackson, age 23 of Tompkinsville, had shot Timothy Darrell Jackson, age 27 of Tompkinsville, after allegedly being assaulted by him.

Practice Test for GED available at Adair Adult Education Center

The Official Practice Test (OPT) lets candidate for Graduate Equivalent Diploma (GED) test readiness to take the test to obtain a high school diploma by taking the GED test

The Adair County Adult Education Center will be giving the Official Practice Test (OPT) to anyone who is 19 and older and has not taken the OPT in the 2012 school year.

The OPT Test will be given on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at the Adair County Adult Education Center, 403 Indian Drive Columbia, KY 42728.

The GED Test itself will be given starting at 8amCT, May 30, 2012, at the Adair County Adult Education Center, 403 Indian Drive Columbia, KY 42728.

(NASDAQ: AMZN) today announced Amazon's plans to open a new 70,000-square-foot customer service facility in Winchester, Ky., investing more than $20.7 million and creating more than 550 full-time and 600 seasonal jobs in the Commonwealth by 2017.

Fatality in KY 55 accident is 44 year old Columbia, KY woman

There's an update to the fatality accident on KY 55, reported earlier this morning, just received from the Taylor County Sheriff's Department, Campbellsville, KY.

A 2000 Nissan Pickup driven by 31 year old William J. Hudgins, Campbellsville, KY was traveling South on Kentucky 55.

The accident occurred near the Green River Bridge between Columbia and Campbellsville, in Taylor County, KY.

Hudgins crossed the centerline and struck a 2005 Ford driven by Wilma M. Morgan, 44, of Columbia, KY.

The accident occurred at 5:21amET/4:21amCT, according to the report.

Wilma Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene by Taylor County Coroner Terry Dabney.

William J. Hudgins was taken to Taylor Regional Hospital, Campbellsville and was then transferred to the University of Louisville Medical Center.

KY 55 closed at Green River Bridge: Fatality accident

Update: 7:03amCT. KY 55 has been re-opened. The accident appears to have been a head-on collision. One occupant, believed to have been a female, is reported deceased. Names of those involved will be released by the Taylor County Sheriff's Department pending notification of the next of kin.

Larry Smith called from en route to Radio Station WHVE, The WAVE 92.7 FM. He was delayed by a fatality accident at on KY 55, Campbellsville Road in Taylor County, KY, which occurred at around 6amET.

"The Campbellsville Police Department called me to ask that we alert everyone to avoid the Green River Hills. I'm suggesting that travellers take the drive across Green River Dam to avoid the accident scene. Alternately, the Tebb's Bend Road would work for lighter vehicles - because of the rickety old bridge." Smith said the Taylor County Sheriff's Department is working the accident.

More than 700 residential Lindsey Wilson College students attended the college's semi-annual "Midnight Breakfast" Tuesday night in Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center. The event, which is sponsored by the college's residence life program, serves students a late-night breakfast from 11pm-1amCT. The meal is served by members of the LWC Office of Residence Life.
