Search committee narrows Superintendent Search to 5 names Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story The Adair County School Superintendent Search Committee met at 7pmCT, last night, Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the Adair County Board of Education Conference Room, 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, and narrowed the applicants to five from the 15 who originally applied. The committee will begin interviewing the 5 remaining applicants next week, and will present their final recommendations, a list of three, to the Adair County School board on or before June 1, 2012. The committee is made up of the following: - Parent representative: David Herbst, is Chair of the CommitteeA final decision on the new superintendent is expected prior to the June 30, 2012 end of term for the present Superintendent Darrell Treece,, who announced earlier that he would no longer be superintendent after that date. Mr. Treece was appointed Superintendent at a Special Called meeting on May 1, 2003, when he was hired to replace Superintendent Keith Young.
