Heavenly spectacle tonight, Monday, March 26, 2012 By Tony Harvey There will be heavenly spectacle to observe in the western sky soon after sunset and better yet once the sky is darkened completely. Given the skies are clear tonight, if one looks toward the west and around 25-35 degrees in latitude, you will see a very bright star which is actually a planet will be Venus and just to the left of Venus will a waxing crescent 4 day old moon. And around 5 degrees due north or above the moon is the 7 Sisters or whats commonly called the Pleiades by astronomers. Then finally, to round out the conjunction of heavenly objects looking about 10-12 degrees below the moon you can see the largest planet in our solar system Jupiter.
