Diana Gerlakh, Moscow, Russia is MSC Women's Tennis Player of the Week

Gerlakh has perfect week competing for Lindsey Wilson College

LOUISVILLE, KY - Lindsey Wilson College freshman Diana Gerlakh is the Mid-South Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday, March 26, 2012.



The weekly conference award is Gerlakh's first of the season and of her career after not dropping a game in last week's match.

Gerlakh posted a shutout in singles and doubles in the Blue Raiders only match last week -- a 9-0 win over Indiana Tech.

The Moscow, Russia native won her No. 2-seed singles match 6-0, 6-0 over Indiana Tech's Christina Ausler. With the win, Gerlakh improved to 9-2 on the season.

Gerlakh and doubles partner Laura Vergara blanked Marisol Granados and Amanda Northup 8-0 in the No. 2 doubles match. Gerlakh is 9-2 in doubles this season.

No. 12 Lindsey Wilson improved to 9-2 overall with last week's win. The Blue Raiders lead the MSC with a 4-0 conference record.
