Diana Long asks everyone to send a card to Jasmine

Diana Long writes:

I am asking every individual, church group, schools..etc. to send a card to Jasmine this Christmas. Jasmine's mother and I are childhood friends who have remained in contact since childhood. Jasmine was seriously injured in a tragic car accident 4 yrs ago and as a result requires 24/7 care and monitoring in a convalescence center. Jasmine just had her 18th birthday. Let's let Jasmine know she has not been forgotten, wouldn't it be great if her family walked in and could see a wall full of cards, just imagine how they would feel to know others care! Life changed forever in a split second for Jasmine and her family. Please help me make the Holidays a little brighter for them. I have already mailed her my cards, won't you do the same? Thanks from Jasmine, her family and Friends. Mail cards to:
Jasmine Ashworth
Ocean Ave.

If you can help make Christmas brighter for another child Please address a card to: A DESERVING CHILD, at the same address.

Other families could benefit by Roy family example

Suzanna Streeval writes:
I have been blessed to be acquainted with several of the Roy family members. They are wonderful people to be able to call friends. LW Soccer team: Best advertising C/AC could ever have

By Sue Stivers

The Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commrce & Tourism Commission would like to congratulate the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders on winning the NAIA Championship and bringing the trophy back to LWC and Columbia.

We are so proud of each of you players along with Coach Wells and Athletic Director Willis Pooler. You're the best advertising that Columbia and Adair County could ever have.

Imagine my surprise when I walked into the Center for Rural Development at Somerset, KY Tuesday. November 29th at 7:00 AM Central time and was told by Tami Reist, Executive Director of the Decatur Alabama Visitors Bureau (tourism office) that LWC men''s soccer team had won their game the night before. When she appeared on stage to speak to those attending the TOUR SEKY annual forum, Tammi immediately was cheering for Lindsey Wilson Soccer teams.

She had nothing but praise for both the Women's and Men's Soccer teams. As I listened to all the good things she had to say, I was so proud to be a part of Lindsey Wilson and to call Columbia/Adair County my home. -SUE STIVERS

Ludora Feese Perkins

Wow! What a blessed service we had at Plum Point Baptist yesterday, Sunday, December 4, 2011!

The Friends in Jesus were our guests and did our service in song.

They sang some of the old songs and did some reminiscing about the old days that many of us remember. They sang songs that had soprano, alto, tenor, and bass leads (which I love).

111 year old family singing tradition contines at Roy home

Click on headline for story plus photo(s)

Nicole Legg writes:
Old traditions don't die easy. A family tradition that has carried on for over 111 years in the same area was held again Friday night, December, 2, 2011, at the home of Charlie and Fern Roy. There were approximately 42 people in attendance including family and friends of several generations.

The future of the tradition looked bright as some of the younger generation showed off their talents, like solos by 8 year old Lindsey Jo Taylor and 2 year old Callee White's piano duets with her Nana, Lois White. A large family is a blessing from God. Add a little food, fun, and music and the blessings even greater.
