COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College senior Ida Gregersen and juniors Patricia Nielsen and Mia Persson have been selected as 2011 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Women's Soccer First Team All-Americans, NAIA officials announced on Monday.

Gregersen, Nielsen and Persson are three of the 13 student-athletes selected to the first-team. The NAIA All-American teams -- consisting of first, second, third and honorable mention -- are selected by the All-American Selection Committee.

Lee University's Jamie Achten repeated as the 2011 NAIA Player of the Year after leading the Lady Flames to the national title.

The Lindsey Wilson trio helped the Blue Raiders to a 19-1-2 record in 2011 and an appearance in the NAIA National Tournament quarterfinals.

The All-American honor is Gregersen's first first-team nod after earning second team honors in 2008 and 2010. The Randers, Denmark, forward was an honorable mention All-American in 2009.

Gregersen finished the 2011 season with nine goals and a team-high 17 assists. She was second on the team with 35 points. Gregersen concludes her career ranked in the program's top-10 in goals (39), assists (44) and points (122).

Nielsen earns her second All-American honor after being named NAIA Third Team All-American last season. In 2011, the Ribe, Denmark, defender, scored seven goals and assisted on two others while anchoring the Blue Raider defense that allowed just 11 goals in 22 games this season.

Persson -- the 2011 Mid-South Conference Player of the Year -- earns her third All-American honor. The Sjobo, Sweden, midfielder, earned NAIA Second Team All-American honors in 2009 and third team honors last season.

Persson led the team this season with 16 goals and 44 points. Her 12 assists were second only to Gregersen.

The trio becomes the 13th, 14th and 15th First Team All-American selections for the Lindsey Wilson women's program. Lindsey Wilson has had 38 first, second or third team All-Americans and an additional 31 honorable mention All-Americans in the program's 20-year history. - CHRIS WELLS
