Starts at 5pmCT TODAY Adair County Historian Mike Watson was one of the first actors at the Adair Public Library, here to portray Parker C. Hardin. 5th Annual Silent City Tour started at Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY. Mr. Watson says that there is still another facet to native Adair Countians who have received Congressional Medals of Honor: Besides Sgt. Dakota Meyer and Brig. Gen. James Alexander Williamson, there a third recipient, but this one has a twist. He's promised the details, for later.

Only 22 have voted by absentee machine

At 3:22pmCT, Monday, October 24, 2011, only 22 had voted using the absentee voting machine in the office of Adair County Court Clerk, Sheila Blair, in the Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY.

The machine is open during regular office hours, 8am-4:30pmCT, Monday through Friday, and on Saturdays, October 29, and November 5, 2011 from 8am-12pm noon CT. The machine will close at4:30pmCT on election eve.

The general election will be 6am-6pmCT, Tuesday, November 8, 2011.

Interest in the election is particularly low. Barring some unforeseen develpment, turnout is expected to be even less than in 2007, when 4,800 voted, approximately 39%.

Beverly Luster, Casey County, KY (1959-2011)

Beverly was very precious, loving and touched many lives during and following her battle with Reyes Syndrome and touched many lives during her residency at Woods Edge Pointe. Beverly had many special friends with staff and co-workers during her 23 years at Thomas Kids Center of Evendale, OH

Beverly Luster of Cincinnati, OH, passed away Saturday October 22, 2011, in Cincinnati. She was 52.

Funeral services are 1pmET/12pm noon CT, Wednesday October 26, 2011 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Burial is at Willow Springs Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, October 26, 2011, from 11amET/10amCT, until funeral service.

Sheila K. Moore, 49, Melson Ridge Road, Jamestown KY died Sunday, October 23, 2011, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Somerset, KY.

The funeral service will be at 11amCT, Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at the H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N. Main Street, Jamestown, KY, Rev. Everette Davis officiating. Burial will be in the York Cemetery, Jamestown, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at the funeral home.

Last seen in Knifley Community of Adair Co., KY

We are trying to locate 2 juveniles who were last seen in the KnifleyCommunity of Adair County on 23 October 2011 at approximately 2030 hours (8:30pmCT). One male, One female.

The male is 16 year old Joshua Warren, last seen wearing a grey carharthoodie, blue/green t-shirt, blue jean pants, and grey tennis shoes w/ neonsoles.

Crowd of 450 attends McKameys concert Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011

"Jones Chapel United Methodist Church was proud to host the McKameys from Clinton TN in concert Saturday night at the Adair County High school gymnasium, Saturday, October 22, 2011," Mike Moon, the pastor of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church wrote. "A crowd of about 450 people came to enjoy the night of Gospel music."

The McKameys, a Southern Gospel Group from Clinton, TN, include, Ruben and Peg Bean, Sheryl Farris, Connie Fortner, Roger Fortner, Eli Fortner.
