Single vehicle accident Sunday results in injuries to two

One flown from Columbia hospital to University of Louisville Hospital

Adair County Chief Deputy Sheriff BJ Bray investigated a single motor vehicle crash which occurred on Sunday morning, October 23, 2011, at approximately 8:24amCT on Russell Springs Highway / KY 80 East near its intersection with Old Somerset Road. The scene is approximately six miles from Columbia.



Jerrie Holland was travelling east on KY 80 in a 2002 Hyundai 4 door sedan, when her vehicle left the roadway and overturned several times. In the process, a utility pole was struck and severed.

Both passenger and driver were ejected from the vehicle.

Holland was taken to Westlake ER and Rodriguez was taken to the hospital in Columbia and was flown from there by Air Evac to University of Louisville Hospital.

Holland was cited for failure to maintain required insurance.

Agencies on the scene were the Adair County Sheriff's Office, the Adair County Search and Rescue team, and the Adair County Emergency Medical Service. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Bradley Burton. Information for this article from Adair County Sheriff's office and other sources

After the crash, E. KY 80, Sunday, October 23, 2011

Adair County Deputy Sheriff B.J. The ASCO, SAR and Adair EMS responded to the scene after a call at 8:24amCT this morning, Sunday, October 23, 2011. The driver, Jerrie Holland, M.C. Huckaby Road, Colulmbia, KY and a passenger were taken to the hospital in Columbia, KY by Adair EMS. An occupant was later to Louisville, KY. The car was eastbound when it dropped off the road, the driver apparently overcorrected, and the vehicle overturned multiple times. An investigation by Chief Deputy B.J. Bray continues. The car was towed from the scene by Bradley Burton Towing Service.

A single shoe

A single shoe was left by the side of the highway about 20 feet from the the final resting place of the 2002 Hyundai four door sedan which crashed early this morning. The passenger was ejected from the car. He and the driver were taken to the hospital in Columbia; an occupant was later transferred to the University of Louisville Hospital.
