Appreciates Lindsey Wilson College and administration

Address markers make campus safer

By Justin Bailey
Adair 911 Coordinator

I was on the campus of Lindsey Wilson College earlier and I must commend the administration of the campus for putting the address numbers on the buildings. As an emergency responder, this makes finding the location of the emergency much faster, and as we know, seconds save lives.

It also cuts down on needless travel

Having public buildings as well as private residences marked makes the response time a little faster because the responders are able to see most of these markers and they do not have to travel past the location several times as they try to find where they need to go. Also, as part of my job, I have to go out into the county and assign addresses to new residences.

95 years ago: A mostly true squirrel tale

By "Jim

Upon viewing the photo and related text concerning squirrels and buckeyes, the following article from the dusty pages of the Adair County News (September 8, 1915) came to mind. (Down deep inside, I have to wonder if the squirrel described below might have been a direct ancestor of the one that caused such an a ruckus and such an uproar and led to such a revival and so much repentance in the "First Self-Righteous Church in that sleepy little town of Pascagoula," Mississippi. Just sayin'...)

About: Defensive Player of Week: Blue Raider Austin Fudge, Eaton, OH/Editorial comment: Thanks, Lindsey Wilson College!

Ed:

Your comments regarding Lindsey Wilson College are "right on."

I am so proud to be a citizen of Columbia/Adair County where Lindsey Wilson College plays such an important part. GO RAIDERS!

s/Darrell Overstreet

Thanks, Darrell Overstreet. On using modern navigational tools, and being a safer campus, Lindsey Wilson College is leading the way. It's amazing how much more advanced, our local institutions are, in this respect. Lindsey Wilson College, Adair County High School, and Campbellsville University are light years ahead of the fossilized systems at Somerset Community College's main campus or, for that matter, Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green and Glasgow, KY. Lindsey Wilson is showing the way for the Mid-South Conference. It is especially gratifying that this PR coupe for Lindsey Wilson is so evident at Homecoming. -Ed Waggener
